ABSTRACT

Riteways marking is to respond to and develop programming to the local cultural context. Deep elements of IK are part of the markers to follow. With and around our thought worlds is the knowledge connected to spirit. Indigenous education Riteways creates an overall positive energy which is responsive to spirit. Seeing spirit and setting actions towards positive spirit is about sustaining for change into the future. The enactment and lived reality of positive spirit in Riteways is wanjau. Wanjua is an age-old IK concept linked to exchange and cross-over of territory, learnings, and people. Ultimately, the directional flows of Riteways should be based on wanjaus.
