ABSTRACT

This chapter provides an overview of the key principles and practices that underlie the successful use of online and hybrid meetings and conferences. It covers virtual meetings and the ways of incorporating virtual audiences into in-person events, as well as the methodologies for building an event community. The practicalities of, and tools required for, developing and delivering online events are explored, including the importance of engaging participants. The chapter concludes with an examination of the live event social media and a reminder of the ongoing importance of face-to-face interactions.
