ABSTRACT
Horror films exhibit the strategies of film more generally but in a particularly naked form. Control of tension and emotional manipulation are highly evident. Consequently, film music in horror films also illustrates vividly and clearly the fundamental processes of film music more generally. This chapter will address how these processes are evident on the surface in John Carpenter's The Fog (1984).
