ABSTRACT
This chapter profiles the tribes of highland Gujarat in general. It discusses their major subdivisions and their geographical spread. It then presents a brief overview of the lifeways of tribes from pre-colonial to contemporary times. The last section focuses on selected five tribes, their hamlets and villages in south Gujarat.
