ABSTRACT
Typical dreams are dream topics that many people experience now and then. This chapter includes analysis of examination dreams, toilet dreams, and tooth dreams. The dreamer, being an academic, also had dreams in which he examined another person. The classical toilet dream, feeling the urge to urinate within the dream, not finding an adequate toilet, and waking up with this strong urge to urinate, are quite rare in this dream series. The finding that the dreamer urinated and defecated in the dream (without any outside effects) questions the idea that toilet dreams simply reflect bodily needs of the sleeping person. Tooth dreams can be very distressing – teeth falling out and so on. Interestingly, the dreamer wanted to go to a dentist in a few tooth dreams – a feature that is typically not present in tooth dreams reported in the literature.
