ABSTRACT

To begin with, vaccination offers a springboard to consider inequities in access to health care, and specifically to medications, worldwide. For example, read the appeal for vaccination by the American Lung Association to the Chinese American population, which combines appeals to family and collectivism and evidence for the complementary though secondary effectiveness of traditional Chinese medicine in combating COVID-19. King provides a nuanced account of all the forces acting to attract or repel Mexican immigrants in the northwestern US from vaccination, including beliefs in the power of curanderos. Similar to other programs designed to help internet users detect phishing scams and other attacks, this site provides a lifelike simulation of misinformation techniques in a brand-building social media environment. Interview samples of individuals about their COVID vaccination views using a version of the survey about COVID vaccine resistance and misinformation developed by Neely and colleagues, and include a question about tetanus vaccination.
