ABSTRACT

This interlude highlights the legal and advocacy work of Roo Ramos, an Iñupiaq, Two Spirit liberation, and equity consultant. In this conversation, the authors and Ramos discuss the impacts of multigenerational family disruption from the U.S. state, Indigenous sovereignty and survivance in the face of multi-generational family disruption and child removal, the importance of the Indian Child Welfare Act to Ramos and others like her, and her legal and social advocacy for Indigenous children in Washington state.
