ABSTRACT

This interlude highlights the academic and creative work of Lizbett Benge, an arts-based activist, scholar, and artist who works with young foster care system-involved people. In this conversation, the authors and Benge discuss how to listen to young people about their own experiences, the value of arts-based practice with system-involved young people, the enduring impacts of foster care on those who experience foster care, and Benge's vision for a different kind of kinship and child care.
