ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses the exam basics, from how to learn quickly and effectively to how to handle the actual PMI-RMP exam. The PMI-RMP examination contains 100 multiple-choice questions with 2 hours and 30 minutes allocated for answers – that is just a little more than 1 minute to answer each question. During the actual exam, the testing aides are calculators that are built into the software, scrap paper/pencils or markers, and note boards. The certification exams are, in most cases, passed or failed before attending the exam, which is highlighted by the alteration of a passage from Sun Tzu, a famous 6th century BC Chinese military strategist. The reason for this is that one aspect is the actual exam content; another aspect is mastering the exam from preparing for the actual exam. Some risk professionals find it useful to learn some techniques for remembering/memorizing while working with the content.
