ABSTRACT

COVID-19 has impacted organizations across sectors, industries, and countries. The very operating model has been altered for organizations to sustain the pressure of their New Normal. Events of the recent past COVID-19 and the Ever-Green Suez Canal blockade in March 2021 have highlighted the significance of supply chain resilience like never before. Business continuity (BC) and risk management (RM) need re-thinking in their approach and focus for organizations to have a resilient supply chain in their BC strategy. Boards and top managements in organizations across the globe (based on the global impact of COVID-19 and the recent near-scare due to the Suez Canal blockade in March 2021) need to reassess and re-think how the business will be conducted in the near and long term.
