ABSTRACT

Technology today is the biggest enabler for any organization — large or small. Technology, along with its component of applications, software, hardware, and peripherals, has assumed an integral position in the recovery and resumption of business post any incident or crisis. Just as a doctor needs to know and understand the symptoms before he/she can start any treatment for any ailment, similarly a business continuity manager must know and understand the components and dynamics of the technology and its architecture — to ensure that IT support is well planned for any incident for the IT team to enable the organization to resume its critical part of operations. The business continuity manager must possess the required understanding and leverage the same with the IT manager to ensure that business objectives are attained in a timely manner.
