ABSTRACT

Chapter 8 covers vocational assessments and interventions for DTD. Individuals with DTD may display problematic behaviors in the workplace that likely mirror their internal states of fear, anger, and helplessness in both frequency and intensity. Employers need to be prepared to respond with compassion to promote the emotional safety of these individuals and those around them, and they need to examine and potentially adapt institutional policies, procedures, and practices that exacerbate such symptoms and behaviors.
