ABSTRACT
Chapter 3 describes the values framework that underlies today’s emerging Family Law and traces its roots to the social shifts and values revolution that took place during the pivotal 1960s and 1970s. The chapter also explains where there is public consensus on family values and where there is not. The chapter serves as a link between Chapters 1 and 2 and later chapters that develop specific reform proposals for a range of Family Law issues.
