ABSTRACT

This chapter introduces the book “Migration and Health: Critical Perspectives” by calling for a radical rethinking by unsettling ideas about migration, mobility, and borders to explore the ways in which they produce health inequalities. It lays out a critical perspective on migrant health that encourages the reader to decenter existing understandings and discourses as well as broaden the lens by including multiple, diverse, and intersectional standpoints. A list is provided that elaborates some of the major principles of this perspective, along with a description of the remainder of the book.
