ABSTRACT

In this concluding chapter, the authors sum up the need for business schools to accelerate their pace of innovation in reskilling and upskilling to map a new road that points the way to new measures of progress and is consistent with the new generation's values in preparing to lead. They underline the potential of applying disruptive innovation theory to make recommendations for building innovative business school programs based on relevant research addressing current global marketplace challenges. This chapter further emphasizes how business schools can design innovative executive education ecosystems that ensure they become more relevant in global economics and sustainability and emerge as important social actors. Collaboration between businesses, schools, and industry to create a digital talent ecosystem is of paramount importance to address and fill the global digital talent gap. The authors close with a discussion of how such partnerships can support a future-focused workforce through the right mix of digital and human skills, learning in workflow, co-creating and co-building educational offerings, flexible learning places—such as through hybrid educational offerings—and reskilling with social responsibility in mind.
