ABSTRACT

To remain in step with the changing needs of the digital era, educational systems must be able to provide a digital workforce for organizations in both the private and public sectors. However, there is little research analyzing what concrete solutions can support the change needed to cope with such a transformational era. Innovative executive education ecosystems linking business schools and industry are much needed if business school leaders are to be key partners in reskilling and upskilling the future workforce in the face of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. Against this background, this chapter stresses the need for business schools to be open to radically changing their business model and rethinking the added-value offering of their executive education ecosystem in order to remain relevant. It discusses curriculum design and the provision of an environment supporting digital talent development and new types of training and certification programs.
