ABSTRACT

In essence, democratic accountability tells a never-ending story. The discovery of the different impact accountability does have according to the form of government may lead to a lot of scholarly research focused on how to increase it and, at the same time, to improve the democratic functioning of all forms of government. Good governance can be achieved, maintained, and even improved through time when the analysts are in a position to assess accountability and evaluate its impact on the different institutions. Ambitiously focusing on institutional and even regime change, we have, not very surprisingly, discovered that accountability is to be considered quite significant in encouraging and making possible several important changes.
