ABSTRACT

The player makes decisions and receives feedback in monthly cycles. Any number of decisions can be made each month in four key business areas: organization; sales & marketing; finance; and operations. Entrepreneurs exercise a widely held agentic potential simply because they happen to believe that they can succeed entrepreneurially. And their belief is due to the way that they view the world – and worldviews are not rooted in genes, or traits, but in grammars. Based on these decisions the simulation responds each month and shows the number of enquiries, orders and sales generated - which determines the flow of money into the business. Until the beginning of the twenty-first century, courses offered by universities that dealt with entrepreneurship or the management of smaller firms were rare in the UK. In the US, the teaching of entrepreneurship has a much longer tradition and the first course was established in 1947.
