ABSTRACT

Chapter 12 extends the Foursquare Coaching Framework beyond the confines of a coaching conversation. Specifically, it illustrates how the Framework, its models, methods, and techniques relate to transformational leadership and organizational change management. An overview of transformational leadership and its origins are presented, with each dimension defined. The reader is advised how using the Framework and its competencies can advance a leader’s ability to be transformational and how transformational leadership facilitates the process of organizational change. The change management models of Lewin, Prochaska, and Kotter are discussed, and the commonalities between these models are examined as to how their strategies and tactics reflect the tenets of transformational leadership and the methods used in the Foursquare Coaching Framework.
