ABSTRACT

In Chapter 1, the usages of various personal pronouns are elaborated. Wang Li first discusses the distinction of singular and plural personal pronouns. Then he investigates the use of “咱们” (zán men; we) and “我们” (wǒ men; we) in modern Chinese, introduces the various polite forms, reports on the situations where no pronoun is applied and examines the use of “其” (qí; he, his, they, their).
