ABSTRACT
Cultivating trusting relationships with colleagues is the heart of a stage manager’s work. The act of establishing rapport and growing the foundation of a relationship to support the challenges of production is critical to every aspect of production work. The ability of a group of collaborators to take risks is directly nourished by trusting relationships that honor mistakes, embarrassment, and joy. Trust enables the performative process to meet an audience in the spirit of curiosity and growth.
