ABSTRACT
This chapter looks at the theory around strategies and discusses the complexity of what constitutes a strategy. We will learn about effect sizes to help understand efficacy of different approaches that have been studied in meta-analysis. As studies have recommended that multiple methods should be taken to optimise learning, we compare some programmes which take this multiple approach. This favorably highlights the benefits of the approach and pedagogy taken in Chapter 4 and Part 2 of this book.
