ABSTRACT

The convergence of definitions of business ethics and corporate social responsibility (CSR) means that for some people these concepts may seem the same, and if not, at least coincide. The chapter introduces business ethics and ethics and explains the connection between business ethics and CSR. The genesis of CSR is also presented, considering its connection not only with business ethics, but also with the theory of stakeholders and sustainable development. The chapter also presents the development of CSR in Poland, i.e. a country considered to be a developing country, which can also be considered a typical example of a country from Central and Eastern Europe.
