In our ever-evolving multicultural societies, gestures also cross the borders of languages and cultures. Part III reflects on the future of gestures in Asian contexts, discussing the meanings and pragmatics of intercultural gestures, and delves into gestural communication in digital and virtual worlds, fandom communities, and face-to-face interactions—from smartphone gestures to emojis, memes, and translanguaging.
