ABSTRACT
This chapter will demonstrate the tight interconnectedness of these networks (trans-national, intergovernmental and supranational) and how they operate in a specific crisis, namely the deteriorating situation in Myanmar from 2017 till 2022 (time of writing). It will focus on specific policies of the R2P advocates and their synergy, their high degree of professionalism and their creativity with regard to response measures, which constructed an image of R2P advancement despite a political stalemate. While the first three chapters provide a thick description of how the networks generally operate, the case study of Myanmar aims to show how advocates have used various types of politics to keep R2P alive. Last but not least, it will manifest the importance of individual activities linked to specific R2P proponents as well as the dynamic within the intersecting networks and the importance of relationality for R2P’s circulation.
