ABSTRACT
Chapter 4 discusses the topic of anthropomorphism, i.e. the human tendency towards finding causalities and intentionalities in natural processes and in inanimate objects. It summarises the phenomenon and discusses how the natural tendency will prove more important in the design of 21st century autonomous road vehicles than it did for the motor vehicles of the 20th century.
