ABSTRACT
A camera is an empowering technological tool but its very presence will and does change things. The global pandemic, which arrived unexpectedly in early 2020, in some way has changed enormously the way we understand the world and our position in it: on the one hand, technology has become even more important in our daily communications through various remote screen communicating platforms such as Zoom, Teams, Skype, FaceTime and others. The war in Ukraine which started on 24 February 2022 brought to sharp focus the ways in which social media begin to create documentary evidence and documentary archive in ways which were not deployed previously.
