ABSTRACT

The final chapter brings together all the voices of the Athenians who move, live, eat and talk in a city, now faced with an energy crisis in the aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic. It ponders what are the implications of the exoneration of the Greek rural and the making of a new Greek cuisine for the future of Athenians, now faced with new global challenges. Reflecting on the overwhelming changes of this new era, in this last chapter I reconsider the notion of cuisine within and beyond the Greek culture, the political role of the senses and sociability as a remedy during these new times of crisis.
