ABSTRACT
This final chapter briefly summarizes key takeaways described in detail throughout this book. It restates the primary theoretical contributions of this study and the methodological guidelines outlined in Chapter 5. The chapter also briefly summarizes key results from the native speaker and learner datasets as well as the most important conclusions to be drawn from them. Finally the chapter concludes by revisiting the implications of L2 research in understanding the nature of discourse markers and proposes future directions in this field of study.
