ABSTRACT
This chapter covers the crew and equipment in the camera department. Crew for this department includes the director of photography, digital imaging technician, data wrangler, camera operator, assistant camerapersons, clapper, loader, assistants, Steadicam operator, and special operators. These are outlined in terms of their duties and responsibilities during pre-production, production, and wrap or post-production (if applicable). The camera package is explained along with the rental process. The chapter also discusses daily operations for the department and delineates their role in running video village, dailies, and tests. Finally, the chapter covers the behind-the-scenes crew and their role on set.
