This chapter covers the transportation department on a film or television show. The department consists of the transportation coordinator, who heads the department, followed by the transportation captain, who assists the coordinator. It also includes the rest of the transportation team, including the dispatcher, truck drivers, and drivers. The department’s operations are also covered, including truck parking diagrams and how daily runs are conducted. The chapter outlines the various production vehicles on a show, such as the grip, electric, camera, genny, and props trucks. Finally, the chapter has a section on picture vehicles and how they are chosen in collaboration with the transportation team and director.
