ABSTRACT
This chapter covers the role of the production team and staff on a production. The team includes the unit production manager, production office coordinator, assistant production coordinator, local production coordinator, production assistants, technical advisor, and script supervisor. The chapter examines their duties and responsibilities in pre-production, production, wrap, and post-production. It also discusses the role of craft services and catering in providing for the crew. It emphasizes what are good choices for craft services and what to look for when hiring a catering company. Finally, product placement is covered in this chapter as it is often the coordinator’s or production manager’s responsibility. This chapter also introduces an outline of unions associated with a production, as delineated in each subsequent chapter.
