ABSTRACT

This chapter highlights the role of the reflective leader in the complex, challenging and changing healthcare service. It reviews the different aspects of reflection in-on and/or before practice as a leader, the different levels of reflection and reflexivity to meet current and future demands of its leaders. It recognises that we work within teams and therefore the role of collaborative approaches including how we can use our emotional, appreciative and narrative intelligence to support reflective teams, create reflective communities and provide a quality-based provision of care.
