ABSTRACT
Before interns begin their training at a placement, there are several tasks to address, including meeting with instructors and supervisors; completing agreements between the university and placement; clarifying activities for which the intern will be responsible; establishing supervisory hours and activities; discussing competencies, evaluation criteria, and the process of evaluation; reviewing ethics; and considering liability insurance. In this chapter, we cover these topics and offer guidance for how to select and find an internship if a student is given that choice or responsibility.
