A causal chain (if this, then that)

The argumentation scheme in Argument #23 was analogical in nature but resembled a causal scheme. In this example, we look explicitly at a causal scheme and consider how these types of argument work. Again, we have an undesirable anticipated outcome given as a reason for not performing some action (or stopping the performance once it’s begun). But this time, what is said to lead to that outcome is a series of causal steps.
