ABSTRACT
Definitions can play an important role in many arguments. In some cases, the position itself depends on a definition that an arguer is developing through the reasoning. In others, a defined category is used in order to assign a particular person or phenomenon to it. This example allows for a consideration of the role of definitions in argumentation.
