ABSTRACT
This chapter recounts the patient’s psychological unlocking and enlivening as a result of moving to the couch. As she is confronted with the deepening intimacy she feels within the analytic relationship, fears of penetration and erotic transference anxieties begin to surface more clearly. These coexist with her deepening desire for intimacy and transformation.
