ABSTRACT

In the final chapter of this book, the author examines how he has helped to promote media psychoanalysis across his career, underscoring that many of the more conservative members of the mental health community had expressed great suspicion and hesitation about publicising the most private of professions. Kahr has described how, in spite of such resistance, he persevered with his efforts and actually managed to reach a wide audience of people who, previously, had little, if any, access to good mental health resources. Kahr has also written about how, in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, he embraced the opportunity to lecture via Zoom, as so many other people will have done, and that, as a result, he managed to reach an ever wider international audience, thus helping to disseminate psychological knowledge in many shapes and forms.
