ABSTRACT

After many years of broadcasting on the radio, Kahr began to present various television programmes as well. In this chapter, the author describes how he made a television film, Britain’s Sexual Fantasies, attempting to explore the unconscious traumatic roots of sexual fantasies and violent thoughts. The essay explores the early stages of Kahr’s investigations – the British Sexual Fantasy Research Project – as well as the commissioning process and, also, the actual filming and editing of this documentary. He has offered readers a very detailed description of the complexities of working in the field of media psychology and media psychoanalysis, examining the benefits and potentialities as well as the many challenges, not least the envious reactions of colleagues from time to time.
