ABSTRACT

This chapter provides a comprehensive analysis of the factors that influence the situation of Polish immigrant organizations (PIOs) in Germany based on transnational opportunity structure, which includes the characteristics of the migration process from Poland to Germany and the Polish migrant community in Germany, the characteristics of Germany as the country and society of residence, and the characteristics of Poland as the country and society of origin. In addition, bilateral relations between Poland and Germany are also considered. These factors shape the opportunities and challenges PIOs face in Germany. Apart from that, the chapter focuses on moderating factors at the global and micro levels that affect immigrant organizations. Drawing on original research and existing literature, this section provides an in-depth analysis of the various forces that influence immigrant organizations in Germany, including global economic trends, social policies, and cultural norms. Furthermore, the micro-level factors that shape the functioning of these organizations, such as leadership styles, organizational structures, and resource availability, are examined in detail.
