ABSTRACT

This chapter provides the business leaders with a complete strategic approach and a full suite of tools to enable them to drive growth by unlocking the innovation capabilities hidden within their organisations. Whilst the ‘Strategic View of Innovation’ above helps to highlight the three key areas any business needs to focus on to manage innovation, another critical aspect of the diagram to appreciate is that all these three things overlap. The zone in the middle of the diagram, where all three strategic areas and their interface zones intersect, is where all aspects of innovation and business management truly come together. Whilst there can certainly be value in starting from scratch and taking an alternative approach to ideation, especially with new problems, my advice is not to ignore the great people with their great ideas that are already there in your business.
