ABSTRACT

This chapter reflects on the partisans’ ideas and illusions. Among them, the subjects described are waiting for the outbreak of the next world war and excessive optimism resulting from the conviction about the partisans’ own power, excellent training and weaponry, and about the enemy’s weakness. The discussion ends with remarks on the so-called amnesty intended by the new authorities to persuade people to leave the underground and which gave the underground soldiers a chance to start civilian life.
