ABSTRACT

This chapter begins by exploring knowledge capitalism in the context of the postdigital university. The next section of the chapter locates the position of the university in the postdigital age, suggesting that the lack of social justice and performativity are important concerns. It then argues that as well as widening access, equipping students to manage uncertainty, that the notion of design justice and the importance of rethinking spaces are starting points for change. The final section suggests new possibilities in the form of the transcendent university, the improvised university and the modest university.
