ABSTRACT

Overview

To conduct qualitative skill analysis, a teacher or coach must possess various knowledge bases. The first component of the Integrative Biomechanical Model of Qualitative Skill Analysis is preparation. Preparation is the process where teachers or coaches build up knowledge bases or gather all the information necessary for qualitative skill analysis. There are five major knowledge bases for the teacher or coach to possess, including knowledge of performers, knowledge of sports skill, knowledge of the biomechanical model of the skill, knowledge of effective instructions, and knowledge of motor learning and control.
