ABSTRACT
This chapter will review the basic data that are available with respect to growth in the postwar period (mostly 1950–2019), the more recent data on income distribution dating from 1980, and some recent indicators of health and education outcomes. We will be concerned essentially with the MICs; occasionally, we use the developed countries as benchmarks.
