ABSTRACT

The conclusions of the theoretical considerations carried out in previous chapters provided the starting point for defining the objectives and choosing the method of the empirical research. Therefore, this chapter is focused on justifying the undertaking of the empirical research, in particular summarizing the conclusions of the theoretical considerations, determining the resulting objectives of the empirical research, and outlining rationale for the choice of the case studies method. Furthermore, it describes in details the research procedure adopted, its limitations, and the measures taken to ensure its reliability. It also presents the surveyed organizations in the broader context of the diversity of Fair Trade market participants as well as the thematic and geographical scope of the research.
