ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses the parts of everyday OT work that are not the therapy itself and how to include DME/2e in this. It looks at the most important factors of the occupational therapy process to consider when assessing and treating a child with DME/2e, including report writing following assessment to highlighting the child's needs – both with regards to their high learning potential (or giftedness), and their special educational need or disability (or learning difference), goal setting, re-evaluation and further referral if needed.
