ABSTRACT

One of the most important jobs of a supervisor: to push the organization's culture on a positive path of growth that promotes and encourages employees to establish productive inner relationships. This chapter looks at the role of positive and influential supervisory leadership in supporting such a culture. Positive leaders create a positive vision or follow a positive vision that has inspired them to create or maintain a positive working culture and positive environment. Being influential is defined as “one who exerts influence: a person who inspires or guides the actions of others”. The most important job of a manager or supervisor as a leader in the organization is to push the organization's culture in a positive and workable way. Organization leaders must generate and drive a positive culture that would promote and encourage employees and nurture human relations. The chapter explores the principles of positive and influential supervisory leadership and what it takes for someone's development to become one.
