ABSTRACT

This chapter will address how an organization’s management, both levels, and structure influence a QFD project execution. It will begin with a discussion of how the organization can prepare for a QFD implementation within its respective organizations. Next, the reader will be walked through the development process step-by-step, and assessment examples will be presented for each management level assessing their influence and role during QFD deployment. It will then guide the reader through the process of forming the “QFD Action Team” and present nine actions that are collectively management responsibility that needs to be taken in forming those critical action teams. The chapter will conclude with a discussion of the QFD project review process and establish with the reader that review is the common thread between the initiation and the successful completion of a QFD project. It will then provide the reader with editable QFD review forms that their respective QFD Action Teams can use to implement, manage, and monitor project execution.
