ABSTRACT

The concluding part sums up the debate confirming that the advancement of nuclear technologies, evolving offensive doctrines and the advent of disruptive technologies have transformed conflict dynamics by converting the patterns of warfare from limited wars to smart/precision strikes between India and Pakistan. Nuclear deterrence in the backdrop of the advent of disruptive technologies further seems to be eroding and smart strikes becoming a new pattern of bilateral engagement between India and Pakistan. The study in this section compiles the finding on renewed mechanisms for crisis and deterrence stability. The volume in this section also tests the adequacy of theoretical underpinnings such as compellence vs deterrence in the case of India and Pakistan.
